Don
Martin diary entry for Thursday, May 16, 1918:
Went to American Embassy and got nice tribute to Bennett from
Ambassador Sharp.
Spent part of the afternoon at office. Staff wondering what
will happen now to the Herald. My notion is it will be sold by the widow. I
intended to go back to Neufchateau but have decided to wait to attend the
funeral if it is to be held soon.
