Don Martin diary entry for Saturday,
March 16, 1918:
More sightseeing.
Walked here and there. Paris is interesting all over. Met [Burn] Price in the afternoon and wandered around with him. After a nap for an hour I tried a French barber. He
half-shaved and half-skinned my face, plastering lather in my mouth, eyes and
ears. There are no barbers like those in U.S. Had dinner with Price in the Chatham
Grill, one of the best and most expensive places in Paris. Had a fine steak and a
dozen oysters. London is starving compared to Paris. Went to the office 38 Rue
du Louvre for an hour this evening and came back to the hotel in the subway. Am
already to start for Gondrecourt Monday morning. Sent about 20 postals to
various people. No question that Paris is the best city of all for beauty of
streets, architecture etc.
Weather delightful.
