President Trump, once again ignoring his commitment in paragraph 1 of the Islamabad MOU, posted on June 28 a threat of use of force against Iran. But this time he seems to be threatening a nuclear attack, in order to accomplish his threat that “the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist!” Here is President Trump’s full threat.
"United States aircraft just struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations, and coastal radar sites, for violating the Cease Fire Agreement, AGAIN! It is very possible that they will never learn! There may come a point when we are no longer able to be reasonable, and will be forced to militarily complete the job that we very successfully started. If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist! " [Truth Social]
About an hour after Trump's post, Kuwait's army said its air defences were responding to missile and drone attacks, while Bahrain said sirens had sounded there. [Reuters]
Also on June 28, US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz said “If the Iranian regime thinks for a second that President Trump is going to sit by, stand by, while Iran continues to attack international shipping without a response, or our bases without a response, they’re sadly mistaken.” [Fox News]
So, Iran continued to play hardball, because they have the cards:
Iran did not take part in technical talks slated for Sunday due to recent attacks on the country and unfulfilled conditions of the memorandum of understanding with the United States. "For example one of the reasons is checking if we have access to the unfrozen funds, if there is no access then this condition has not been fulfilled." [Iran International, June 28]
If the 60 day clock is running, valuable time is being wasted because of yet another Trump outrageous outburst.
